The main challenge facing agriculture is to continue to safely produce quality fruit and vegetables with the reduced availability of water in both quantity and quality.
In response to this important challenge, the PreciRiego project was created to develop an expert system capable of designing and controlling a customised, precision pressurised irrigation system.
The aim is to provide a comprehensive solution by combining the most advanced information and communication technologies with new advanced irrigation devices. This makes it possible to quantify and adapt to the existing variability in the plots, precisely applying the amount of water demanded by the crop according to its water needs, the availability of resources, the required production and the quality of the final product.
The PreciRiego project (RTC-2017-6365-2) is funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities – State Research Agency and co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the call RETOS-COLABORACIÓN 2017 that supports projects in cooperation between companies and research organisations, whose objective is to promote Technological Development, Innovation and quality Research.
