The installer Agrodrip and Halpern, a renowned irrigation systems supplier in Argentina, have collaborated with AZUD to develop a large-scale project in the Córdoba region of Argentina.
Halpern, as a key importer of AZUD technology in the country, has made it possible to bring advanced drip irrigation solutions to producers such as Ascanelli SA, a major player in the agricultural production of corn, soybeans and wheat. Ascanelli SA also has an outstanding track record in the manufacture of agricultural machinery, with more than 60 years in the market.
This irrigation project represents its first foray into agriculture under technified irrigation systems.
Province: Córdoba
Country: Argentina
The Córdoba region experiences annual rainfall ranging between 900 and 1000 mm, concentrated mainly in the months of October to April.
However, the winter is dry, with only 10% of annual rainfall, making it impossible to sustain productive crops during this season.
In addition, the region has been affected by a severe drought for several years, which has generated a significant water deficit.
Ascanelli SA, like many producers in the region, faces the challenge of supplementing natural rainfall to ensure two crops in summer and one in winter, and thus stabilize its production system.
The implementation of the subsurface drip irrigation system (RGS) has proven to be the ideal solution to address the water deficit and guarantee greater production in the region.
The AZUD GENIUN PC ASP system, installed at a depth of 30 to 40 cm and with a spacing of 1.1 meters between laterals, has allowed precise and uniform irrigation.
In addition, the project includes the advanced filtering system, AZUD HELIX AUTOMATIC 4DCL, which guarantees maximum efficiency in the use of water.
In this project, another of the key solutions implemented was the AZUD QGROW V multichannel fertigation equipment, which allows simultaneous and accurate dosing of several fertilizers through Venturi injectors. This system, which also monitors parameters such as temperature, pH and conductivity, ensures efficient application of fertilizers of different natures without incompatibilities.
With this solution, Ascanelli SA has achieved a substantial optimization in its agricultural productivity, guaranteeing stable crops and maximizing the use of water resources in an area traditionally affected by drought.
