Finca Margaritas has demonstrated the extraordinary benefits of implementing Subsurface Drip Irrigation (SDI), becoming a benchmark in circular farming.
In an agricultural sector that is increasingly committed to sustainability and the efficient use of resources, this producer of fodder for livestock farming has achieved a milestone, not only for the great savings in resources and increase in production that it has obtained, but also for demonstrating that sustainability and profitability go hand in hand.

Finca Margaritas faced the challenge of achieving a more sustainable and profitable production of clover, fescue and alfalfa, solving problems of water shortage and animal damage.
As these crops are used for livestock, it was essential to find a solution that would allow livestock to be fed without damaging the irrigation system. In addition, time flexibility played an important role, allowing the animals to graze at any time, maximising the efficiency of the time and resources available.
The aim was to achieve significant savings in water, energy and fertiliser, realising circular farming: while the livestock is fed, the manure is used as fertiliser, thus closing the cycle in an efficient and sustainable way.
Circular farming, a sustainable approach that seeks to maximise efficiency and minimise waste, finds in Subsurface Drip Irrigation (SDI) a comprehensive solution to meet its needs. The savings in water, energy and fertiliser have been staggering, with reductions of up to 50%.
The solution chosen for this installation was AZUD PREMIER PC AS. Its self-compensating and anti-suction technology makes it the best solution for the SDI, as it avoids the suction of particles into the emitter when irrigation ends. The AZUD PREMIER PC AS dripper has been specially designed for Surface drip irrigation installations, this, together with the great technology of its components, makes it the best choice in the market.
At AZUD we are experts in offering solutions that adapt to the needs of each client, knowing that their success is our success. The installation carried out at Finca Margaritas has the AZUD PREMIER PC AS dripper.
