At its facilities, the operation of cooling towers is closely linked to the stability of demanding continuous processes.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, the presence of suspended solids and organic matter in the recirculating water was affecting thermal performance and promoting scale buildup, with a direct impact on energy efficiency and maintenance requirements, in an environment where any deviation can jeopardize production plant located in Quer\u00e9taro had a <strong>High-flow cooling tower system<\/strong>, with an approximate operating flow rate of <strong>96<\/strong><strong>\u202fm<\/strong><strong>\u00b3\/h<\/strong>, which featured a <strong>High water consumption associated with frequent cleaning of the basin and continuous purges<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The main limitations of the project were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The need for <strong>reduce water consumption<\/strong> resulting from purges and maintenance operations.<\/li>\n<li>The presence of <strong>solids, deposits, and scale<\/strong> which negatively affected the efficiency of the towers and the performance of the chemical solution was based on a <strong>Filtration system for cleaning the sump<\/strong>, designed specifically to protect cooling towers with high flow rates, and included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>200 AA Series Filtration<\/strong>, featuring technology from <strong>rings<\/strong>, suitable for use in demanding conditions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Air-assisted filtration<\/strong>, improving cleaning effectiveness and reducing the frequency of maintenance.<\/li>\n<li>Filtration rating of <strong>100 microns in recirculation<\/strong>, designed to remove solids that cause scale and deposits.<\/li>\n<li>System <strong>fully automated<\/strong>, with modifications to the control units (analog, digital, and instrumentation).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The installer channel (Hydrocontrol) played a key role in the <strong>Installation and integration of complementary solutions<\/strong>, ensuring proper integration with the existing implemented:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It was achieved <strong>extend the frequency of mechanical cleanings of the sump and reduce the frequency of purges<\/strong> from the tower, resulting in a direct reduction in water consumption.<\/li>\n<li>The improvement in water quality made it possible to <strong>increase the efficiency of chemical treatment<\/strong>, thereby reducing operational deviations.<\/li>\n<li>Effective removal of solids contributed to <strong>reduce deposits and scale<\/strong>, improving the thermal performance of cooling towers.<\/li>\n<li>Levels of <strong>turbidity less than 3 NTU<\/strong>, promoting more stable operation.<\/li>\n<li>The following were reduced: <strong>maintenance outages<\/strong>, thereby increasing system
