Finca Tardienta has been transformed thanks to the implementation of Sub-surface Drip Irrigation (SDI), becoming a prime example of how to save on water, fertilizers, and labor costs while increasing production.

Ismael, a corn farmer, has not only significantly increased his yield and reduced consumption of water and fertilizers, but has also overcome the challenges posed by wind and soil salinity in his area. Thanks to the installation of RGS, he has made tilling easier and reduced maintenance work.

The Challenge

Finca Tardienta faced the challenge of increasing its production despite the water shortage, the high fertilizer prices and the wind a constant that caused a lack of uniformity in cultivation. In addition, it had to contend with soil that had high levels of salinity.

The goal was to achieve greater efficiency in the farm work and maintenance, while also reducing labor costs.

The Solution

The choice for the installation was the transmitter AZUD PREMIER PC AS, specifically designed for systems of Sub-surface Drip Irrigation (SDI). Its self-compensating, anti-siphon technology prevents particles from entering the emitter when irrigation is complete, ensuring optimal performance.

In addition, filtration systems featuring disc technology and automatic cleaning were installed AZUD HELIX AUTOMATIC DLP, with a filtration degree of 130 microns and a flow rate of 180 m³/h, which keep the water in optimal condition and ensure a uniform mixture and a quality suitable for exceptional performance.
