The project is being carried out on a citrus farm located in an area where water is scarce and, in addition, has a high salt content. Under these conditions, the quality of the irrigation water is critical, as it directly affects the tree growth and crop quality.
Faced with an increasingly evident water shortage, the producer needed to ensure a reliable water supply. Therefore, the producer sought a solution that would allow for less reliance on external sources and better use of available resources, with a focus on more efficient and sustainable water use.

The client faced several limitations due to the quality of the available water:
In this context, the main challenge was to transform this water source with a high salinity into a resource suitable for intensive irrigation, without harming either crop productivity or soil health.
AZUD developed a comprehensive reverse osmosis desalination solution AZUD WATERTECH Osmopack, designed specifically for the conditions at the facility. This system incorporates a comprehensive treatment process, in which Filtration plays a key role as a preliminary step to ensure the process’s performance.
The implemented system includes:

The implementation of the system has led to significant improvements in both agronomic and operational areas:
As a result, water is no longer a constraint on production, ensuring high-quality Irrigation even in times of water scarcity. Farmers can thus protect their crops and soil, while improving efficiency and ensuring the system’s long-term viability.
