Singapore, a country known for its strong commitment to sustainability, has launched an innovative and pioneering project in Asia and around the world: transforming the rooftops of all parking garages into green spaces. AZUD, selected for this project, demonstrated its adaptability and leadership in sustainable Irrigation and Filtration solutions.

The Challenge

In Singapore, regulations require that all parking garage rooftops be converted into parks or gardens.

Given the the country’s proximity to the sea and its high water table, an innovative solution was needed that would make use of these rooftops to create sustainable green spaces.

In addition, it was necessary to integrate a system for rainwater harvesting and use, using this water source for irrigation. To do so, a system had to be installed to guarantee proper water quality, ensuring proper operation and extending the facility’s useful life.

The Solution

AZUD provided a customized and robust solution that included a drip irrigation system, using AZUD PREMIER PC AS technology and the AZUD HELIX AUTOMATIC AA irrigation water filtration system.

  • Drip irrigation system with technology AZUD PREMIER PC AS: The dripline with a pressure-compensating, anti-siphon flat dripper ensures uniform and efficient irrigation. The dripper’s self-cleaning capability makes it an ideal solution when dealing with poor-quality water, as in this case.
  • Filtration System HELIX AUTOMATIC AA WEIR: A self-cleaning disc filtration system with air-assisted cleaning, which allows for deep filtration of water, removing organic and inorganic particles. This ensures optimal irrigation water quality, which is crucial for the maintenance of these green spaces. To use stormwater for irrigation, it was essential to have a highly efficient filtration system.
