Expert system for the design and control of a pressure, customized and precision irrigation system (RTC-2017-6365-2).

The main challenge facing agriculture is to continue producing quality fruits and vegetables safely, facing less water availability in quantity and quality.

In response to this important challenge, the PreciRiego project arises that pursues the development of an expert system capable of designing and controlling a pressure irrigation system, personalized and precision. It is about providing an integral solution that, combining the most cutting-edge information and communication technologies, with new advanced irrigation devices, allows to quantify and adapt to the existing variability in the plots, applying precisely the amount of water demanded by the cultivation according to their water needs, the availability of resources, the required production and the quality of the final product.

The consortium led by AZUD and participated by leading companies such as SALEPLAS and NUTRICONTROL, and Research Organizations such as the Center for Edaphology and Applied Biology of the Segura (CEBAS) of the CSIC and the TICS Applied to Agroforestry Precision research group, of the University of Castilla la Mancha, will allow to create the most favorable environment to make this development possible.

The project has been funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities - State Research Agency and co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the call RETOS-COLLABORATION 2017 that supports projects in cooperation between companies and research organizations, whose objective is to promote technological development, innovation and quality research.
