Expert system for the design and control of a customized, precision pressurized irrigation system (RTC-2017-6365-2).
The main challenge facing agriculture is to continue producing high-quality fruits and vegetables safely while coping with reduced water availability in terms of both quantity and quality.
In response to this significant challenge, the PreciRiego project was launched. Through this project, AZUD aims to develop an expert system capable of designing and controlling a customized, precision pressurized irrigation system.
This is a comprehensive solution that, by combining cutting-edge information and communication technologies, with new, advanced irrigation devices, enables us to quantify and adapt to the variability found in fields, precisely applying the amount of water required by the crop based on its water needs, resource availability, the desired yield, and the quality of the final product.

The PreciRiego project (RTC-2017-6365-2) is funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities – State Research Agency and co-funded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), as part of the 2017 RETOS-COLABORACIÓN call for proposals, which supports collaborative projects between companies and research organizations aimed at promoting technological development, innovation, and high-quality research.
