Development and implementation of agroecological strategies for sustainable stone fruit production.
The PEACH research project integrates innovative technologies to provide precise and balanced nutrition to stone fruit trees, driving the evolution of high-yield production systems toward an agroecological transition.
The cornerstone of this research project is the integration of digital technology and specialized, global knowledge of the environment, establishing synergies between peach crop nutrition through precision subsurface irrigation systems, and the management of biodiversity for pest control, with the goal of achieving greater resource efficiency.
PEACH, together with AZUD, brings together leading institutions such as the Segura Center for Soil Science and Applied Biology (CEBAS-CSIC), the Murcia Institute for Agricultural and Environmental Research and Development (IMIDA), and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).
The PEACH project (PLEC2022-009287) is funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the State Research Agency (10.13039/501100011033), and by the European Union through “NextGenerationEU, Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.”
