1. LaserWay Launch
Last January, the kickoff meeting for the European Laserway project took place in Elgoibar (Guipúzcoa), with all participating partners in attendance.

Recent events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine have increased global uncertainty, leading many European companies to rethink their global supply chains and production methods. Given the possibility of potential and unpredictable new disruptions, it is crucial for European industry to achieve a high degree of flexibility and adaptability that will enable it to respond quickly to sudden changes, whenever they occur.
Through the development of innovative and sustainable ultra-high-speed laser processes—such as laser cutting, laser micro-perforation, and laser material deposition (EHLA)—the LaserWay project will revolutionize the manufacturing industry. These innovations will make it possible to replace obsolete, inefficient, inflexible, and environmentally harmful conventional methods by implementing highly flexible production lines based on high-speed laser technology.
2. Objectives
With a focus on increasing productivity and efficiency, the project aims to provide a more sustainable alternative that significantly reduces CO2 emissions and, ultimately, paves the way for a cleaner, greener future for everyone. To achieve this, LaserWay will double the productivity of the laser process while simultaneously delivering highly precise photon distribution at the right place and the right time.
The project’s success will provide a competitive advantage for industries such as water treatment, automotive, and aerospace by reducing processing times, optimizing material use, and improving the quality of the final product. The advances achieved through the LaserWay project will drive innovation in high-speed laser processing, consolidating Europe’s position as a world leader in advanced manufacturing technologies.
