The project is being carried out at a drinking water treatment plant located in the Wadi El Rayan protected natural area in Egypt.
The facility is responsible for producing water intended for human consumption, in compliance with strict quality standards to ensure its safe distribution.
Because it operates in an environmentally sensitive area, the plant requires highly reliable and efficient treatment processes, capable of ensuring water quality without compromising the preservation of the surrounding ecosystem.

The main challenge was to ensure consistent quality of the feedwater entering the Membrane systems, in complex operating conditions:
The objectives The client’s requirements were clear:
A AZUD disc filtration system as a pretreatment stage, installed upstream of the Membrane system.
The solution was custom-designed following a water quality analysis, selecting the appropriate filtration rating (130 microns) and sizing the system based on flow rate and operating conditions.
The built-in system includes:
This establishes a an effective protective barrier for membranes, ensuring proper operation.

The implementation of the filtration system has significantly improved the plant’s overall performance:
Overall, the solution helps to ensure a reliable supply of drinking water, optimizing operational efficiency in a particularly sensitive environment.
